aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential to maintain the longevity of eyelash extensions / lash lift and keep them looking their best.
First 24-48 hours (eyelash extensions & lash lift):
- Keep lashes dry for the first 24-48 hours, this means no swimming, steam rooms, saunas, or hot showers.
- Avoid wearing eye makeup during this period go prevent weakening the adhesive bond.
- Refrain from touching, rubbing, or pulling on the lashes, as this can disturb the adhesive bond and cause premature shedding.
- Steer clear of oil-based skincare or makeup products around the eyes, as oils can break down the lash adhesive.
Ongoing maintenance for eyelash extensions:
- Gently clean the lashes with a lash-approved cleanser to remove dirt, oil, and makeup residue. Use a soft, lash-specific brush or spoolie to cleanse them.
- Extensions are designed to eliminate the need for mascara.
- Use a clean spoolie brush to gently comb through the lashes daily to keep them looking neat and prevent tangling.
- Try to sleep on your back or side to avoid crushing the lashes against your pillow, which can lead to breakage or premature shedding.
- Avoid using mechanical or heated eyelash curlers, as they can damage the extensions and your natural lashes.
- Be mindful of high heat from blow dryers, ovens, or direct sunlight, as excessive heat can weaken the adhesive and cause lashes to lose their curl.
- To keep lashes looking full and fresh, schedule refill appointments every 2-3 weeks to replace any extensions that have shed.
Additional tips:
- Opt for oil-free and extension-safe makeup removers to clean around the eye area.
- Never pick, pull, or attempt to remove the extensions yourself. If you want them removed, have them professionally removed to avoid damaging your natural lashes.
